We started out small.  Over the years, folks have witnessed our organization first hand and wanted to become members of our team.

Visionary

Delpha Dyer

Delpha Dyer has been a registered nurse since 1967 and a registered midwife since 1975. She immigrated to Canada in 1988 where she lived and worked as a nurse until retirement at age 60. After retirement, she went back to school because she wanted to help young people. Already involved in counseling church and community groups, she clearly saw that many young people have a negative perspective and were not taking advantage of the opportunities around them. She completed a program as a Human Service Counsellor and returned to Jamaica to reside and to do her part to improve the opportunities and chances of success for local youth and families.

Dyer serves as an advisor for the Mentorship Program, which mentors children of various ages and educational levels throughout the community.

Dyer’s overall vision is to see changes in the program’s youth; not just physical, social and educational, however, but spiritual- so they will be saved, redeemed, filled with the Holy Spirit, and become whole people who will change communities and nations. In order to achieve these larger changes, each child must first bring about a change in him or herself, which will in turn inspire change within the community at large, thereby eliciting change within the entire nation, and ultimately, change within all nations…

Assistant Director, Assistant Chairperson & Assistant Treasurer

Omar Fagan

A loving father, husband and friend with a strong belief that “it is better to do it better the first time”.

An accountant by profession, however he has worked most of his life in the hospitality industry.

A firm believer in discipline and setting the right example for young men and women; moulding them through the love of Jesus Christ.

A seed was planted in him as a child, fed a steady dose of Jesus Christ, and he is of the firm belief that this is the answer for this generation.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”- Philippians 4:13.

Mentoring

Elizabeth Ross-Fagan

A warrior for Christ, devoted wife, mother, and business woman with a soft voice but a firm persona, Elizabeth began to teach a mentoring program on Saturdays.

Devoted to helping, teaching & moulding the youth, instilling in them discipline, self- worth and who they are in Christ Jesus.

Elizabeth firmly believes that children are our future; without children we would have no future, without a future, there will be no hope, and without hope, mankind would cease to exist.

A woman determined to making a difference and to catapulting the future into their God given purpose.

“In all thy ways acknowledge Him & He shall direct thy paths.” – Proverbs 3:6

Treasurer, Thrift Store Manager

Suzette Douglas

Suzette Douglas is an experienced teacher and guidance counselor with over six years experience. She obtained her BA in 2003 with a major in Theology and a minor in Guidance and Counselling, and her Teaching Diploma in 2005 with special emphasis on Guidance & Counselling. She is currently completing her Masters in Counselling and Educational Psychology. Counselling is her passion and she has been a mentor for many people in her church, community and at work. Douglas says, “I have become aware, since working in a ministry with many different people with varying needs, that individuals cannot be helped unless they want to be, and as such, my vision is to see people realizing that they need help and accepting the same. The help we offer to individuals at the Youth Mentoring Ministry is what I call the “change factor” – a second chance for one to fulfill his or her God given potential, and gain a change of outlook, behaviour, attitude, academics and spirituality, in order to become a kingdom builder and world changer.”

“With Christ all things are possible…only believe!”

Assistant Secretary & Public Relations Officer

Camele Jones

A teacher by appointment and not choice, Camele takes her job as a divine calling. It is for her the opportunity to serve her Lord by helping to transform and mould lives into Christ-likeness. It is therefore a natural extension to mentor youths from all walks of life and social strata. A mother of three, Camele is well- acquainted with the challenges of raising children in this generation and the difficulties of keeping them focused, protected, empowered, and positively directed. It is her commitment do all she can to create and train Godly men and women of the future.

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” (St. John 15:16)

Mentorship Coordinator

He believes in building his whole life around God everyday, with everyone and in everything. His
favourite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint".
