On Day 2
We had guests share testimonials regarding their businesses. Mr. and Mrs. Forbes, a local couple, shared information about their respective businesses with our youth. Mr. Forbes, who is a Sales Representative for a well known local vacation adventure company, established and operates a bee and honey business, while his wife, a chemistry teacher at a local high school, operates a hair and beauty products business. YMM Board Member and Secretary, Liz Fagan, shared information on her cake business, and Mrs. Rosanne Reid, Author, Entrepreneur, and Entrepreneurship Coach, also paid us a visit to discuss the elements of a business plan.

Mentees setting up shop in the market
The youth took all their newly acquired business skills out to market! On the fourth Friday of every month, thanks to Scotiabank Jamaica, YMM is able to set up a tent with thrift store merchandise in the bank’s parking lot. The youth displayed the merchandise, and assisted in sales to passers by and bank staff and patrons. Please see our Day 5 photos below.
